NRM holds talks with SPLM



The National Resistance Movement  (NRM) Secretary -General, Rt.Hon. Richard Todwong today Thursday received a delegation of South Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) based in Uganda.


They were led by Cde:Panda Machol Maduong, the Chairperson of  SPLM Secretariat in Uganda. 


In the discussion of the two sides, Todwong assured the visiting delegation of Uganda's continued support and commitment towards South Sudanese growth and development.  


"We desire that South Sudan stabilises so that we can shift our cooperation and energies to economic recovery," Todwong said.


Cde Maduong commended the NRM government for having provided a safe environment for the people of South Sudan to live without fear of persecution. 


"Like Ugandans, refugees living here are at liberty to work, study or engage in any business without hurdles," Maduong said. 


Two weeks ago, SG Todwong welcomed a section of  SPLM leaders at NRM Secretariat who were led by Cde. Bol Makueng, the party's Secretary for External Relations.


The two parties promised to deepen ties through various exchange programs.
