MK Women's Brigade launches countrywide activities to improve women welfare

A group of women under MK Movement know as the MK Women's Brigade  has launched its nationwide activities aimed at improving the welfare of Ugandans especially the women.

Judith Mukidi Basemera, the chairperson of the group dubbed AGOJIE said the umbrella welcomes all women supporters and well wishers of the MK movement.

Agojie focuses on women and ghetto youth programs dubbed MK Agojie Development Initiative  which ensure social economic transformation for the under-privileged.

As part of this campaign, the group launched the MK Agojie fund which will be used to help underprivileged women.

“The activities we are rolling out will be applied by all women groups under the MK Movement teams to reach a much bigger population.  The name ‘Agojie’ was initiated by the Chairman of MK Movement, SPO/SO Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba on 21st March 2023 through a tweet that recognized women as great warriors,” Ms Basemera told this website.

Basemera added that Muhoozi as the founder of MK Movement Women Brigade (Agojie) advocates for an all inclusive MK Movement.

“Women have been recognized across the globe as ‘a sustainable tool to national development’. Through their advocacy approach style, women are viewed as great mobilizers and mindset changers. Our role as women in the MK Movement is to mobilize and advocate for a better Uganda through our voice, SPA/SO Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.”

AGOJIE is a self help group designed to promote ideas that bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. Through the revolutionary principles of patriotism, nationalism, democracy and social economic transformation their target is to see a higher percentage of people in Uganda in the category of the ‘middle class’.

The group appreciated the Patron of MK Agojie Denis Ogandi who has effortlessly supported their activities through guidance and general support.
