Museveni to get out of isolation soon - Principal Private Secretary

President Yoweri Museveni will soon be out of isolation, his Principal Private Secretary, Dr Kenneth Omona, has said.

Omona said in a press release on June 12, 2023, that the President is steadily recovering from the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“I can tell you the President appreciates so much for standing with him and he will be updating you. He has been firing his tweets and I think he is in good spirits and we hope that in a few days he will be out of isolation,” Omona said.

Omona thanked Ugandans for their support and well-wishes they have extended to the President and his family.

“On behalf of the President and the family, with a lot of gratitude, accept the gesture of wishing the President good health. We thank you very much for expressing the spirit of the African people, the spirit of unity and we’re really overwhelmed by the gesture,” he said.

The President is in self-isolation after he tested positive for Covid-19 last week.

According to Omona, the President assured the nation that although he tested positive for Covid-19, he feels much better.

He noted that the President will continue with self-isolation as his condition is being monitored.

In his message, the President encouraged Ugandans to fully get vaccinated again the disease.

“Again, I advise all of you to get fully vaccinated against corona and the elderly should get the boosters,” Museveni said.

During the State of the Nation Address, President Museveni revealed that he had tested positive for COVID- 19. He has since delegated his work to Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
