President Museveni Urges Ugandans to Remove Corrupt PDM Committee Members

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called on Ugandans to dismiss corrupt members of the Parish Development Model (PDM) committees. He emphasized that citizens should not tolerate anyone sabotaging the program, which was launched to integrate them into the money economy and eradicate poverty. The President made these remarks during a public rally at Kahunde Playground in Kagadi district, as part of his performance assessment tour on wealth creation and PDM in the Bunyoro Sub-region.

Museveni urged the public to take full ownership of the PDM initiative, from its administration to its implementation, and to hold accountable anyone undermining the program. He described PDM as a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting grassroots communities. Additionally, he highlighted the government's plan to expand its strategy of providing free primary schools in every parish and free secondary schools in every sub-county, ensuring universal access to education.

Museveni reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving infrastructure, including road construction, water supply, electricity distribution, healthcare, and socio-economic empowerment programs. He encouraged the people of Bunyoro to adopt modern farming techniques, such as irrigation, to enhance agricultural productivity.

On the issue of land evictions, the President directed local authorities in Bunyoro to report landlords illegally evicting tenants, promising action against such individuals. He reiterated that land rights were clearly defined in the Constituent Assembly and subsequent legislation, ensuring tenants' rights to remain on and utilize their land for wealth creation.
