President Museveni kicks off talks with his Algerian counterpart
President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Saturday held talks in Algiers with President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, who is on a state visit to Algeria until Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the presidential lounge of honour at the Houari-Boumediene International Airport, in the presence of senior officials from both countries.
Earlier, Museveni was welcomed on his arrival by President Tebboune, accompanied by the Speakers of the Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil and the People’s National Congress, Brahim Boughali, the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Said Chanegriha, and members of the Government.
Presidents Tebboune and Museveni listened to the national anthems of both countries before reviewing the honored detachments of the various People’s National Army forces as gunfire rang out in honor of the guest.
The two Presidents also welcomed the delegations of both countries, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria.
