Makerere Catholic community launches singles club to help members get partners

St Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy in Makerere University will today Sunday April 16 launch a singles club.

The club will provide an opportunity for members of the congregation to find partners with whom they share spiritual values.

The club will be launched in St Augustine Student’s Centre main hall. According to the assistant chaplain, Fr Charles Makoboza, there will be registration of members at 2:00 pm, and the club will officially be launched at around 3:00 pm.

All single students and all those willing to participate in the launch are invited.

Fr Makoboza said that the purpose of this club “is to give you (students) the opportunity to meet. You never know; this could help you get a good partner instead of going on the streets to look for one.”

However, he warned that starting the club was not meant to encourage students to become husbands and wives but to create friendships with other students.

“I encourage all singles of the Catholic Community in Makerere to come for the launch of this club. We are waiting for you,” he said.

He also encouraged married couples to support the club at its takeoff stage.
