There will be no promotion of homosexuality in Uganda- President Museveni

President Museveni has said that there in a bid to protect the children and the Human race, there will be no promotion of homosexuality in Uganda.

The President also  appealed to fellow African leaders to take up a leading role in preserving the African culture against immoral behaviors, including homosexuality.

“Africa should provide the lead to save the world from this degeneration and decadence, which is really very dangerous for humanity,” Museveni said.

Museveni made the remarks over the weekend while addressing a delegation of Members of Parliament from over 22 African countries and the United Kingdom at State House Entebbe.

The delegation met for a 2-day first-ever inter-parliamentary conference on family values and sovereignty. The conference ran under the theme “Protecting African Culture and Family Values.”

The President asked fellow African leaders to strongly condemn the vice of homosexuality, saying it’s a big threat and danger to the survival of the human race.

“If people of opposite sexes stop appreciating one another, then how will the human race survive and propagate?” Museveni said.

On behalf of the delegation of legislators who attended the conference, Kaluma Peter from Kenya thanked President Museveni and the Parliament of Uganda for their firm stand against homosexuality and efforts to preserve African culture.

Citing the recent anti-homosexuality bill that was passed by the Ugandan Parliament, Kaluma said that the bill is now an inspiration to other houses on the continent to reject the vice of homosexuality.

“We came to express our gratitude, respect, and salutations to you, Your Excellency. You give value to our sovereignty as independent states in Africa, and you have stood in the gap for Africa,” Kaluma stated.
