Man strangles girlfriend to death over failed love affair

The territorial Police in Mukono is actively has put up a serious manhunt for a one Wabembasha Enock, a 25-year-old resident of Nabutu Zone, Seeta ward, Goma Division in Mukono Municipality for the alleged murder by strangling of his girlfriend.

The victim has been identified as Hajat Namboozo Fatuma, aged 28, a resident of Bulijo village, Kyampisi parish, Nagalama Sub- County in Mukono District.

According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the victim who visited the boyfriend on Saturday evening had a quarrel and later her body was found in the rented room, early morning.

Enanga adds that the suspect called the parents of the deceased, used her phone and told them to pick the dead body of their daughter foe burial. And that he didn’t regret having killed her.

The recent spurt in crimes of passion, including murder, has left Ugandans  on the edge. While some of these crimes appear to be pre-meditated, others are a reaction to provocation.
