PM Nabbanja in Kigali Rwanda for the Women Deliver Summit

 





The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah arrived in Kigali Rwanda  on Sunday for the Women Deliver(WD) Summit which opens today Monday 17 in Kigali.

On arrival , The Premier was received by her counterpart Dr, Edouard Ngirente at Kigali International AIrport and Uganda’s Ambassador to Kigali Maj. Gen. (Rtd)Robert Rusoke.

The WD conference is one of the largest multi-sectoral gatherings aimed at advancing gender equality.

The Kigali conference — the first WD meeting in Africa — is expected to be attended by 6000+ people in person and 200,000+ others online.

The vision, theme, and objectives of the Conference were selected by the WD2023 Advisory Group, in consultation with over 5,000 advocates — spanning 166 countries, generations, and sectors — who participated in design sprints and Women Deliver’s Global Community Consultation.


The Prime Minister later on Sunday evening  joined soccer fans at Kigali Pele Stadium to cheer for Uganda’s National Women’s Football Team, Crested Cranes, as they take on Rwanda’s She-Amavubi in the second leg of the first round of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Qualifiers Paris 2024.
