Activists call for prosecution of Bobi Wine’s young brother for using a minor in a sexualized music video

Children's rights activists have called for the prosecution of Bobi Wine’s young brother, Michael Mukwaya, aka Mikie Wine, for using a minor commonly known as Pretty Nicole in a sexualized music video that has left many Ugandans buzzing.

According to the activists, Mike Wine, an upcoming artist who is also a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Central Executive Committee (CEC), abused a child by dancing and touching Pretty Nicole sexually, yet she is under 18.

“While the Children’s Act does create room for children to engage in some forms of employment, it specifically says the work must be in the best interest of the child, taking into account their unique status, such as educational needs,” Godwin Toko, an activist, stated, adding that the video is a gross violation of a minor’s right; there's no other way around it, and parents can't consent to abuse of their children’s rights; actually, no one can!

Another activist, Godfrey Kutesa, stated that the girl needs rehabilitation, but the most disgusting thing is the men stupid enough not to see that this is a minor. “How can you use a person’s child for your sexualized song? This is unacceptable!!” He added.
Many Ugandans have taken it to X to call for the persecution of Mikie Wine ever since the controversial video of him squeezing Pretty Nicole emerged.
Our efforts to get a comment from Mikie Wine were unanswered since his known phone numbers couldn’t be reached.
