NRM Deputy SG urges leaders to create jobs and wealth for the youth

The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko has called on leaders to play an active role in creating employment opportunities and promoting wealth creation for the youth and ordinary citizens in their communities.

Speaking during a tour of Exquisite Solutions Limited, a leading communications service provider that connects companies with clients in Uganda and abroad, Namayanja emphasized the need for leaders to make positive use of their influence by lobbying for jobs for the unemployed youth. “Leaders must use their positions and networks to attract organizations that can provide jobs to our unemployed youth. This is key to tackling the unemployment challenge in this country,” Namayanja remarked.

She was accompanied by a delegation of leaders from Luwero District who were on a fact-finding mission to explore how Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) could be replicated in the Luwero subregion, including Nakaseke and Nakasongola districts.

Namayanja highlighted the potential of BPO to create jobs for the youth, explaining that the sector operates in shifts, allowing it to absorb many job seekers both day and night.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with President Museveni’s vision for socio-economic transformation through the service and ICT sectors,” she noted.

Later, Namayanja toured Blue Swan Enterprise, an Anglican Church-founded company dealing in small-scale manufacturing of toilet papers, and liquid soap among other mechanize in Namugongo.

The NRM secretariat’s deputy head commended the church for engaging in production instead of only relying on the worshippers to facilitate the word of God.

“You are a good example to the Christians and other denominations. Other church leaders should learn to teach people to produce goods for money,” Namayanja said.
